Fergus, now part of Centre Wellington, is a quaint town nestled on the banks of the Grand River. It embodies a rich Scottish heritage through natural limestone buildings, parks, trail, restaurants and unique shops.
Fergus is well known for the annual Scottish Festival and Highland games, which is held in August. This festival is the largest of its type outside Scotland and Cape Breton.
Fergus is located within driving distance of the Greater Toronto Area, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo. The town is also close to three universities: Waterloo, Guelph and Wilfred Laurier.
Fergus is a growing town and has approximately 20,000 in population.
